Vision

As members of the Catholic Church, Jesus Christ entrusted us with the mission of passing on the complete faith to future generations.  For decades, this Grotto uplifted the spirits of Vincentian Institute students during their years of study.  It served as a refuge of hope for the community during the Cuban Missile Crisis and today the Grotto still speaks of transcendent beauty during Weddings and Baptisms, as well as Memorial services, and Funerals.  This hidden gem, which has tugged the hearts of so many, now needs our help in order to be passed on to the next generation intact.

The vision to restore and preserve the Grotto so it can be reopened to the public for the Sacred Liturgy, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Rosaries, Benediction, and prayer, is finally possible with the support of Bishop Ed Scharfenberger.  This Grotto is meant to be a place that gives honor to Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception and solicits her help for the needs of the world.  With the turmoil of today, what better place to pray than where Servant of God, Father Patrick Peyton, CHC felt most inclined to prayer while in Albany.  Here, thousands of VI students found their constant companion in Our Lady and her worn marble statute stands as a testament.

Help return the Grotto to its former magnificence and with it, bring the miracle of Lourdes here!
